This year’s SKAPA innovators focus on efficient digitization

Sweden’s biggest innovation award, the SKAPA Prize 2019, was presented during a ceremony at the residence in Falun at the governor Ylva Thörn on Wednesday. Two ideas with five worthy winners were praised and the ideas each received SEK 20,000 from Almi, the Dalarna Science Park and the SKAPA Foundation.

Petri Ruotsalainen, Jan Zackrisson and Calle Lindroth from Borlänge receive the SKAPA award for the OptoPro cloud service for project management and documentation in fiber-based expansion and rebuilding and new construction of electricity grids. SKAPA talent for young innovators was awarded to David Forsberg and Madelena Stunis for their digital payment solution Kwikk.

-Two interesting innovations are praised, both with a focus on digitalization. One in the form of digital project management and efficiency and the other by simplifying payment solutions for small businesses, associations, and others. There is a great potential for growth in both innovations and we in the jury see a market both in Sweden and internationally, says Ulrika Ebenhard, Advisor at Almi GävleDala and chair of the SKAPA jury in Dalarna.

The county award winners go on to the national competition with the award ceremony at SKAPA innovation gala at the Stockholm fair on November 14, where the award winners compete for SEK 550,000 for the SKAPA prize and SEK 250,000 for SKAPA talent for young innovators.
The jury consists of representatives from Almi, Dalarna Science park, Dalarna County Administrative Board and Dala Bergslag’s Inventor.
