Sustainable energy efficient renovation Tjärna Ängar

We are involved in the project where Dalarna University is renovating million program houses together with Tunabyggen in a way that is better for the environment, better for the residents and cost-effective so that they can maintain a high renovation rate.

Vision

The project will contribute to the renewal process to make Tjärna Ängar a more attractive, varied and integrated housing area. How the project is carried out, the place it is carried out on and the result that is created should generate pride for the employees of Tunabygggen, the tenants and people in Borlänge.

Through new thinking regarding the renovation of apartment buildings, a new model is created for gentle improvement of public utility housing based on sustainability, both ecologically and socially and economically. The model focuses on energy efficiency, cost efficiency, climate and thermal comfort, as well as collaboration for participation and decision making. The project challenges the conventional industry’s conventional methods and measures for energy efficiency.

Results

Three buildings have now been completely renovated and measurements have been carried out in parallel in these houses for one year.
